Sperm Meets Egg: Week 1 To 3 Of Pregnancy   The due date is calculated from the first day of your last menstrual period. Conception occurs about two weeks after this day. This is only when you are considered pregnant. Hormonal surge is controlled by the brain which causes one of the ovaries to produce an egg. If both ovaries produce an egg, you may have non-identical twins. Long finger-like projections swipe the egg into the fallopian tube.
